There are times where confidence feels like a fair-weather friend. Here in the good times and absent in times of challenge…something you struggle to hold on to.

The truth is confidence is not a stagnant thing, like once you have it you are set for life.

Quite the contrary, confidence is multidimensional and something that grows with each courageous step you take. You may master it in one area of your life but not others.

The thing you can have, regardless if it is a new experience or not, is confidence in your abilities to figure it out when you are starting something new. The knowledge that you will do what it takes and from that your confidence in this area will naturally grow.

There are also certain things that come easier to you than others. Your confidence will be higher in those areas. On the flip side, the feeling you get when you master something that was a big challenge, increases your level of confidence and strengthens your belief in what is possible the next time you find yourself in a similar position.

Confidence is something to be built within ourselves. It is not bestowed upon us. It is something you work for, develop, and create in yourself.
