Increased self-awareness, self-acceptance,
self-compassion, and support for mental health
There are many facets that make up emotional health: our internal beliefs, fears, lack of belief in ourselves, not feeling worthy, perfectionism, connections with others, doing things that bring us joy, self-care…and the list goes on. As you explore your emotional life this month, go easy on yourself; notice, don’t judge. Get curious: what is it about the thought, feeling, or situation that triggers you? Where did it originate? Honestly, looking at your emotional life calls for courage and compassion. I encourage you to be mindful of both. Judgment keeps you stuck in what is; courage and compassion open the doors to new opportunities and what can be.
To get us started, I am sharing some powerful distinctions to keep in mind.
Shame is "I am bad."
Guilt is "I did something bad.”

Self-confidence is the belief in your abilities as a person.
Self-worth is the belief in your value as a person.”

We can often be our worst enemy, confusing distinctions like the above. Making ourselves wrong because of misconceptions, things we have been told repeatedly, and limiting beliefs we carry within us.
It is much like you can’t solve today’s technology issues with yesterday’s technology.
Look underneath the judgment to get to the cause. If you remain with the judgment, you will not be able to move forward.
